چکیده

Lorentz gas as a typical distribution of velocities for more than a moment. We may take the initial momentary distribution of velocities as conforming to Lorentz, but a moment later, owing to the finite distribution of the condensing wall, the ions there will have a radial distribution of velocity with v V v not equal to zero. With v * V v not equal to zero at the points we cannot make the gas a Lorenzian throughout a region by any uniform transformation to uniformly moving axes. The Lorentz gas cannot be regarded as an example for any finite region, however well it may serve as an example for an infinite region. The immediate appearance of v V v in the gas requires us to use our a' which is much larger than the 7L of the Lorentz gas.

Effect of prewarming in the cold season on thermoregulatory responses during exercise.

OBJECTIVE To assess whether thermoregulation in the cold season can be affected by prewarming before exercise. METHODS Four healthy non-athletic unacclimatised males were exercised to the same degree in summer and winter on a bicycle ergometer without prewarming (experiment 1) and after prewarming by sitting for 30 min in a room at 30 degrees C (experiment 2). During exercise, sweat productio...

Rewarming and sweating during cardiopulmonary bypass.

The hypothesis was tested that facial sweating at the end of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) is a thermoregulatory phenomenon. Twenty-two patients undergoing cardiac surgery with fentanyl anesthesia were studied. Nasopharyngeal temperature, nasal skin temperature, rectal temperature, and mean skin temperature were monitored for 90 minutes after the start of rewarming on CPB. Calf-toe and forehead-...

Thermoregulatory response thresholds during spinal anesthesia.

Reportedly, during spinal anesthesia, the shivering threshold is reduced approximately 1 degree C but the vasoconstriction threshold remains normal. Such divergence between the shivering and vasoconstriction thresholds is an unusual pattern of thermoregulatory impairment and suggests that the mechanisms of impairment during regional anesthesia may be especially complex. Accordingly, we sought t...

Thermoregulatory Mechanisms of Jersey Adult Cattle and Calves Based on Different Body Sites Temperature

In this experiment six healthy adult dairy Jersey cattles and eight calves (aged 4-6 months) were selected to measure temperature of different body skin sites, rectal temperature, respiration and heart rates during summer and winter. Body sites maximum and minimum temperature in calves during summer belonged to the ear, forehead, right flank, abdomen (38.4-38.9 ˚C) and carpus (32 ˚C). This was ...

Attenuated thermoregulatory sweating and cutaneous vasodilation after 14-day bed rest in humans.

We investigated the effect of head-down bed rest (HDBR) for 14 days on thermoregulatory sweating and cutaneous vasodilation in humans. Fluid intake was ad libitum during HDBR. We induced whole body heating by increasing skin temperature for 1 h with a water-perfused blanket through which hot water (42 degrees C) was circulated. The experimental room was air-conditioned (27 degrees C, 30-40% rel...
